Woaw I love it!! O__O
The colours are perfect, once again your 'mascot' colours (white/blue/grey/red) that I often see on your artworks. And I love the splashes effect, it looks like she's dissolving. Great work, once again. -- "Someday you will find me caught beneath the landslide, in a champagne supernova in the sky ..." |

To me, the word "drowning" would refer to "fear of dying" or something like that, but in the song, it's clearly about the sorrow of one that make the other suffocate. Than, the mood of this image is right, cold blue, white and gray. The choice of this photo as a model is also good. The emotion on the girl face is sad (probably amplified a bit with the manipulation?), the pose make us feel like "pressure on the shoulders" or "can't stand anymore"... though it could have been even more expressive, because the action of "drowning" involves stronger emotions.
I do understand that working with stoke picture limits the choice of models; to get the perfect pose with the perfect emotion, you'll have to shot the picture yourself!!
What really makes this image, is the splashing, in association with "drown". This is very good. The red hair add a bloodish touch to the feeling. I would add that, with the movement of the splashing, the fact that it's supposed to be a capture of water in action, the hair should have movement in them, instead of being still.
So, that's my two cents
It's a very simple scene which is good because those splatters are the details that had to show up in this image.
I like the blending - you have your own technique to blend things and you've worked on it here maybe more then in other images. Starting with the legs, and ending with her back.
Also - the work with the lights is amazing.
The splatter are floating everywhere which give movement to the image, and her look seem to concentrate the emotion of this picture.
I like the red tone you choose for her hair and also the pale skin that goes against the blue background.
Overall, you did an amazing job here!
